Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT) behoort tot de absolute top van de hedendaagse dansgezelschappen wereldwijd. Achter de schermen werkt een bevlogen team van circa 70 professionals dagelijks aan onvergetelijke voorstellingen. Van medische begeleiding en licht- en geluidstechniek tot educatieve programma’s: alles draait om kwaliteit — en om mensen.
Voor onze afdeling Techniek zoeken wij een collega die het team komt versterken. De afdeling Techniek bestaat uit een crew voor NDT 1 (8 technici) en NDT 2 (4 technici). Je bent onderdeel van één van de crews, maar staat open om gedurende het seizoen te assisteren bij de andere crew.
Wat ga je doen?
De afdeling Techniek zorgt voor een ultieme technische uitvoering van onze producties. Voor de crew van NDT 1 zijn we op zoek naar een lichttechnicus. Jouw werkzaamheden zijn afwisselend en uitdagend:
• Als onderdeel van een rondreizend dansgezelschap reis je mee met voorstellingen in Nederland en in het buitenland
• Je maakt deel uit van het technische team en werkt samen met andere afdelingen, zoals het artistieke team en productie, aan de voorbereidingen van onze voorstellingen
• Je werkt mee aan de op – en afbouw van de reizende voorstellingen. Je werkt hierbij samen met je collega’s van de andere afdelingen (Stage Management, Geluid, Video en Toneel)
• Je bent onderdeel van de afdeling licht. Binnen deze afdeling ben je verantwoordelijk voor het operationeel houden van de technische infrastructuur (inclusief datanetwerk) en het stellen van licht. Daarnaast ben je soms ook betrokken bij het programmeren en bedienen van onze lichttafels
• Je levert informatie voor de archivering van de voorstellingen
• Je bent goed in het efficiënt en veilig organiseren van je werkzaamheden op toneel
• Je levert een directe bijdrage aan het eindresultaat op het podium
Met welke materialen ga je werken?
Bij NDT werken we met de volgende materialen en software, misschien ben je al bekend met sommige van deze materialen, maar dat is niet per se nodig:
GrandMA2, GrandMA3, MA dimmerrack, AsteraBox, LumenRadio, Ayrton Ghibli, NanoPix, Astera, Robe ParFect, Capture, Vectorworks en een opslag vol met historie
Wie ben jij?
Naast passie voor het vak, herken jij jezelf in het volgende:
• Je hebt minimaal een MBO werk- en denkniveau en bij voorkeur een theater technische opleiding gevolgd
• Je hebt ongeveer 5 jaar werkervaring
• Je beheerst zowel de Nederlandse als Engelse taal
• Je hebt technische kennis van (een deel van) bovengenoemde materialen en software
• Je houdt ervan om zelfstandig en in teamverband naar een einddoel toe te werken
• Je vindt het leuk om te touren, zowel in Nederland als internationaal
• Je vindt het geen probleem om op onregelmatige tijden en in het weekend te werken
• Je bent op de hoogte van de laatste ontwikkelingen in het vakgebied

Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT) is one of the world’s leading contemporary dance companies. Behind the scenes, a dedicated team of around 70 professionals ensures every performance is a world-class experience. From light and sound design to medical support and education, every detail matters — and so do you.
For our Technical Team, we are looking for a colleague to join the team. The Technical Team consists of a crew for NDT 1 (8 technicians) and NDT 2 (4 technicians). You will be part of one of the crews and be open to assist with the other crew during the season.
What You’ll Do
The Technical Team ensures the ultimate technical execution of our productions. For the crew of NDT 1 we are looking for a Light technician. Your work is varied and challenging:
• As part of a touring dance company, you will travel with the companies in the Netherlands and abroad.
• You are part of the technical team and work together with other departments (such as the Artistic team and Production & Preparation) on the preparations for our performances.
• You participate in setting up and dismantling the travelling shows, including loading and unloading the trailers. In doing so, you work together with your colleagues from the other specialisations (Stage Management, Sound, Video and Stage).
• You are part of the light department. Within this department, you will be responsible for keeping the technical infrastructure (including the data network) operational and setting lights. In addition, you will sometimes be involved in programming and operating our lighting tables.
• You provide information for archiving the performances.
• You are good at organising your work on stage efficiently and safely.
• You make a direct contribution to the final result on stage.
What materials will you be working with?
At NDT we work with the following materials and software, some experience or familiarity with these systems is desirable, but not necessary:
GrandMA2, GrandMA3, MA dimmer rack, AsteraBox, LumenRadio, Ayrton Ghibli, NanoPix, Astera, Robe ParFect, Capture, Vectorworks and a store full of history.
Who are you?
Besides passion for the profession, you recognize yourself in the following:
• You have at least an MBO working and thinking level and preferably a theatre technology or stage and event technology degree.
• You have about 5 years’ work experience.
• You speak both Dutch and English.
• You have technical knowledge of (some of) the above-mentioned materials and software.
• You enjoy working independently and in a team towards a final goal/result.
• You enjoy touring, both in the Netherlands and internationally.
• You have no problem working irregular hours and weekends.
• You are aware of the latest developments in the field.
