We are pleased to announce the launch of the inaugural Backstage Professional Development Conference in partnership with the Association of British Theatre Technicians.The Conference will offer a day of short specialised practical sessions, talks, workshops, and Q & A’s by industry leaders designed to be of maximum value to backstage professionals.
The day will bring together industry professionals and companies offering knowledge, advice and guidance based on their specialist departments. Sessions will include business subjects such as Tax for Freelancers, Insurance for the Self-Employed and advice on starting your own company, as well as practical topics such as Dance Floors - laying, taping and cleaning, or Moving Lights - keeping them working. There will also be Q & A’s for advice on contracts, memberships, equipment hiring, tools, risk assessing, personal promotion and further professional training.
The Conference will take place in London at The Barbican Centre on Saturday 18th March 2017. Registration for the day costs just £25 and booking is now available through the Backstage Conference website at http://www.backstageconference.com (discounts are available through supporting industry organisations and establishments).
