Contribution Dutch designers
Many Dutch stage designers left the frame theatre in their search for a different power of imagination. They have broken through the fourth wall and started performing in all kind of places other than the theatres. In this respect the Netherlands are still a pioneer compared to other countries.
By presenting the work of the following designers the organisation wants to show the diversity of Dutch designers who design for site-specific theatre:
The presentation gives a diverse picture of everything that happens within the various disciplines like dance, youth theatre, drama, opera or events.
Tribute to Tessa Lute
The Prague Quadriennale focuses a lot on costumes in this edition. The commission took this opportunity to make a tribute to the costume designer Tessa Lute who was killed in an accident in 2001. She left us an impressive quantity of costume designs. With this tribute the organisation wants to celebrate her life as a designer and at the same time express how we miss her talents as costume designer.
